Marty Robbins was one of those singers that appeared on both the country and pop charts. During his 30 years on the business, he had 94 hit songs the made the country charts. Marty Robbins died on this day on 1982.

Robbins recorded songs that go from pop to country to cowboy western, to even a tropical feel in the song "Devil Woman".

Robbins would have hit songs that reached from the mid 50's all the way into the 70's.

Not only was he a singer, he also had an interest in race car driving, starting out on dirt tracks and graduating up to NASCAR racing.

Robbins was the last to perform at the Ryman Auditorium, the original home of the Grand Ole Opry, and the first to perform at the new Grand Ole Opry House.

Marty Robbins, one of those artists that crossed over into different music genres and was very successful at it.

Here are a couple of my favorite Marty Robbins songs.
