R2-D2 Pays a Special Visit to Hutchinson Middle School [Photos]

A short time ago in a place not too far away, Star Wars favorite R2-D2 visited students at Hutchinson Middle School in Lubbock.

The droid stopped by the school Friday afternoon (Jan. 8) to help present a prize to a student who had most accurately guessed plot points in a quiz based on the new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens.

The quiz was created by the school's creative writing class ahead of the movie's release as part of a study of plot development and story, according to Lubbock ISD.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become the highest grossing movie of all time in North America, earning more than $760.5 million just 20 days after its theatrical release. The previous record holder was James Cameron's Avatar.
