It was known as the "pink zone game". But now it is the "Play 4Kay " game. This a designated game where coaches help bring awareness to breast cancer in honor of the longtime head coach of the North Carolina State women's basketball team Kay Yow.

 

Coach Yow was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. She battle the disease three different times.She passed away in 2009.

One in eight women will get breast cancer in her lifetime. More thatn 1.7 million who have had breast cancer are still alive the United States.

Lady Raider fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game Sunday, February 12 when Tech host Iowa State. Fans wearing pink to the game will get into the game for $5. Also the first 500 in the gate will receive a free pink pompom.

Last year not only were the Lady Raiders wearing pink uniforms,and playing #1 Baylor, something awesome happened that day.
