Get ready to "Awwwww!" your heart out. Punk, a giraffe at Abilene Zoo, gave birth to a baby boy this week.

According to a press release from the zoo, the baby boy is perfectly healthy, eating well and slowly but surely adjusting to other members of the giraffe herd. Luckily, the public won't get to pick the name (because if I have to hear "Harambe" one more time I might scream.).

Whatever his name is, try to go enjoy seeing him ASAP, as he will most likely not live his life out in Abilene:

Because he is genetically valuable and an approved breeding animal for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Species Survival Plans, the animal likely will join a giraffe herd at another AZA facility when he hits puberty.

Abilene Zoo has over a 100 animals of 270 species. For ore information about ticketing and events, you can visit them at www.abilenezoo.org or give them a call at 325-676-6085.
