People Magazine Tells Us About the Best Salsas and Pace Picante Didn’t Make the Cut

Remember the Pace Picante commercials based in the Wild West where somebody would inevitably come up with a jar of salsa that was made in "New York City"?

"Get a Rope" was the famous comment made then, and it might work again as People Magazine (of all places) has come up with the best store-bought salsas you can get for the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Here's their "scientific" process: they asked 12 of their staff to choose their favorite. And that's it.

Now, I'm from North Dakota (not exactly salsa country!), but I'm also not dumb enough to pretend I know about salsa.

Anyway, here's what the folks up in New York City (or wherever they're based out of) came up with.

1. Desert Pepper Corn Black Bean Red Pepper Salsa

2. Tostitos Chunky Salsa

3. Brad’s Organic Roasted Garlic Salsa

4. Chi-Chi’s Thick & Chunky Salsa

5. Amy’s Black Bean & Corn Salsa

I've tried a few of these, and I can tell you right now if Tostitos is their second favorite, well, all I can say is: "Houston, we have a problem."
