Texas has over 50 private and public universities, plus a multitude of junior and community colleges. When it comes to education, we have plenty of options. Some of the options are more costly than others, which seems to correlate with the salaries of faculty and staff.

Texas Christian University costs about $55,000 per year (over $20,000 a semester), making it one of the most expensive schools in Texas.

According to Start Class, Dr. Victor Boschini, chancellor of TCU, makes $1,364,696 a year, making him the 12th highest-paid university president in the country.

A few other Texas universities made the list for the Top 100 Highest-Paid University Presidents, including Baylor, Southern Methodist, Rice, University of Texas, and University of Houston.

The site named Ohio State University president E. Gordon Gee as the #1 highest-paid president at $5,035,791. It costs over $60,000 per year (over $27,000 a semester) to attend Ohio State University.

To put it in perspective, WTAMU tuition is about $3,700 per semester for Texas residents and $7,500 per semester for out-of-state students.

And in case you were curious, Governor Greg Abbott only makes about $150,000 a year to run our state.
