One Killed in Dickens Highway Crash

One person was killed Monday morning (Dec. 14) following a two vehicle accident in Dickens.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred around 9 a.m.

DPS reports an eastbound semi tractor trailer collided into the front passenger side of a passenger vehicle at the intersection of U.S. Highway 82 and State Highway 70. The driver of the car, Charlie Turula (52) of Crowell, was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS believes Turula failed to yield the right of way to the tractor trailer, causing the accident.

The truck driver, Lonnie Blackwell (62), was reportedly left unharmed in the collision.

DPS continues to investigate.
