Norwegians Use the Word ‘Texas’ as Slang for ‘Crazy’ [Video]

Did you know that some parts of the world think we are so crazy here in Texas that they use the word Texas as slang for insane?

Norwegians in particular think Texans are so over the top that they have a slang term 'det var helt Texas' -- loosely translated as 'that is absolutely, completely, totally bonkers!'

It isn't usually used to describe a person, but rather a chaotic situation.

Texas Monthly ran the story earlier this week, so we decided to ask our resident Norwegian Doug Brannson if he knew about it and what he thought about it. Oh, and then he demonstrated something TOTALLY 'det var helt Texas.'

It may be that Norwegians only have our westerns and TV shows about Texas to give them any indication about what Texas and Texans are all about. But regardless, they love us and our 'crazy' lifestyle.
