NOFX have caused a stir online with a video that is going viral due to comments the band members made onstage in Las Vegas, speaking about the mass shooting that took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in October 2017.

The L.A.-based punk rockers performed at the Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival in Vegas on Sunday (May 27), and in a video obtained by TMZ, they have just finished a song when lead singer Michael John "Fat Mike" Burkett remarks, "We played a song about Muslims and we didn't get shot. Hooray."

Another band member quickly interjects, "I guess you only get shot in Vegas if you are in a country band," to which Burkett then replies, "That [the massacre] sucked, but at least they were country fans and not punk rock fans."

The Worst Concert Tragedies in Music

His remark elicits audible groans from fans in attendance, prompting him to add, "You were all thinking it."

Fifty-eight people died and more than 800 others were injured when a lone gunman opened fire on the audience at the Route 91 Harvest Festival from a hotel room adjacent to the concert site. It is the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history, and many people turned to social media to take NOFX to task for the remarks:

NOFX had not commented publicly on the flap over their remarks as of press time.
