Lubbock absolutely loves to eat out, and one of the city's favorite fast food restaurants, Chick-fil-A, will open a new location in the Hub City.

The new Chick-fil-A restaurant, located at 8301 University Ave., will open its doors Thursday, June 2. The opening will bring 90 new jobs into Lubbock, feature a two-story interactive play area for the kiddos and offer free Wi-Fi.

The restaurant will be kicking off a 24-hour grand opening celebration where customers can form a line beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, June 1 for a shot at winning a year's worth of free Chick-fil-A.

According to Chick-fil-A, a drawing will select the first 100 eligible adults (ages 18 and older with identification) that are in line when the doors open around 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 2. Those 100 selected people will each receive a one-year supply (or 52) of free Chick-fil-A Meals.

For more rules and details, see the Chick-Fil-A website.

Local franchise owner and operator Brad Norris is also holding a book drive, asking new customers to donate a book or books, that will go to the Lubbock Boys & Girls Club.
