A woman struck a tree in Lubbock's Mose Hood Park with her car early Saturday morning (July 25).

According to the Lubbock Police Department, patrol officers responded to the crash at 1:51 a.m. Police say the woman, 54-year-old Nina Tijerina, was driving her 1993 Toyota Camry southbound on Ave. Q.

For reasons unknown as of yet, Tijerina crossed the northbound lanes and ended up in Mose Hood Park where her car struck a tree.

Tijerina was transported from the scene to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

The LPD Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene and is investigating.
