Wednesday night’s Montgomery Gentry concert at the Georgia State Fair has been canceled as singer Eddie Montgomery continues to deal with the tragic death of his son, Hunter. The fair remains open on that day.

No additional Montgomery Gentry concerts or appearances have been affected at this point. The duo is still listed as a featured performer for Saturday night’s (Oct. 3) Grand Ole Opry show. It’s the Opry’s 90th birthday bash, featuring Little Big Town, Joe Diffie and more. Beyond that, the “Hell Yeah” singers won’t have to leave Nashville until Oct. 9 and Oct. 10, when they’re scheduled to play shows in Little Rock, Ark. and Fort Wayne, Ind.

Austin Hunter Montgomery died on Sunday (Sept. 27) after an unspecified accident. Funeral arrangements are set for 3PM on Thursday (Oct. 1), with visitation at 11AM at the Southland Christian Church in Nicholasville, Ky. Hunter was the youngest of Eddie Montgomery's four kids with ex-wife Tracy.

The band shared the news of the 19-year-old's death with fans on Sunday morning. A press release explained that he'd been involved in an accident and was on life support prior to his death. Hunter had recently proposed to his girlfriend, and the two welcomed a baby boy earlier this year.

Taste of Country offers condolences to the Montgomery family.
