Last week, 1340 The Fan broke the news that former Texas Tech football head football coach and current Washington State Cougar head coach Mike Leach would be making his return to Lubbock for a book signing.

Monday night (July 23), Leach made an appearance at the Barnes & Noble book store located at the South Plains Mall.

Coach Leach was met with a great crowd of Red Raider fans, as well as his own fans that came to support the former Texas Tech coach.

An hour before the book signing started, the line to meet Leach spread from the inside entrance of Barnes & Noble down to the Marble Slab Creamery kiosk. And it only got longer as the clock ticked closer to 6:30 p.m.

Leach chatted with fans as he signed books, t-shirts and hats. He even posed with a mom and her baby.

Leach is currently engaged in a very public -- and very ugly -- legal battle with Texas Tech University for pay he believes he's entitled to. Leach was fired from the football program in 2009 amid controversy.
