Lubbock County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for an escaped inmate.

Randy Allen Williams escaped from a work detail in a Lubbock County fleet services Ford pickup.

Sheriff’s deputies say that Williams created a diversion by lighting a fire in the County garage in downtown Lubbock Tuesday morning.

The 49-year-old Williams has been charged with a number of offenses, including two counts of theft between $50 and $500, DWI, and possession of a controlled substance.

Williams was considered a low-risk offender.

He has abandoned the County fleet truck and is no longer wearing the orange inmate attire.

Williams is described as a white male, standing 5’11” tall, and weighing around 185 pounds.

Anyone with information on Williams’ whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Line at 741-1000.
