A grand jury indicted a Lubbock man for aggravated kidnapping.

KAMC News reports 29-year-old Chance Lee Copeland (pictured above) abducted Scott Mackenzie on February 6th.

Police were called to a convenience store at 34th Street and Nashville Avenue and found Mackenzie lying on the floor near the front door. Mackenzie said that he ran to the store after being assaulted by Copeland at his home.

According to police, Copeland attacked Mackenzie for two hours with a knife and lamp-stand, causing severe trauma to his face and head.

Copeland was arrested on February 23rd and is currently being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
