The driver who was behind the wheel of a vehicle that crashed into a Lubbock home over two years ago has been sentenced.

Thursday morning (Jan. 18), 34-year-old Michael Wayne McKay pleaded guilty to a charge of Aggravated Assault with Serious Bodily Injury. McKay was sentenced to 10 years of probation in lieu of a 10-year prison sentence.

Back in June of 2015, McKay drove a pickup into the front of a house at 93rd Street and University. One occupant in the home, Michael Reyna, was paralyzed from the waist down because of the crash. The others, Reyna's wife and children, were also injured.

McKay's indictment stated that he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
