Last Sunday (June 10), Little Big Town‘s 6th Annual Ride for the Cure event took place in Franklin and Columbia, Tenn. Unfortunately, the motorcycle ride was canceled due to a bad rainstorm, but the popular country act still managed to help raise more than $55,000 to help research cures for cancer, Leukemia, and AIDS.

Despite the bad weather, the pre-ride jam session at Mickey Roo’s and the all-star jam session at the Harley-Davidson Columbia Superstore both went according to plan. In addition to live music, the jam sessions also included an auction. One of the big-ticket items of the day was an autographed Epiphone Guitar signed by Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts and Edens Edge. It was purchased by Mike Wolfe from The History Channel’s reality show, ‘American Pickers.’

In the six years that Little Big Town have been hosting the Ride for the Cure, the event has raised $310,000 for the T.J. Martell Foundation. The T.J. Martell Foundation is the music industry’s largest foundation that funds innovative medical research focused on finding cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDS.

After taking a day off of touring to do a good deed, Little Big Town didn’t have much take to rest. The CMT Music Award-nominated group is back on tour. Click here for the rest of Little Big Town’s summer tour dates.
