Little Big Town Perform ‘Here’s Hope’ at 2012 ACM Awards
Before Little Big Town sang ‘Here’s Hope’ at the 2012 ACM Awards tonight (April 1), singer/songwriter Hunter Hayes introduced them, after performing the first verse of his song ‘Storm Warning.’ Hayes actually co-penned ‘Here’s Hope,’ which is part of the ACM Lifting Lives initiative. The song and the performance were designed to shed light on the epidemic of child hunger.
Little Big Town began their performance by singing a bar of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ before launching into ‘Here’s Hope,’ with images of children flashing on the screens behind them. It was effective imagery, which made the lyrics even more weighty and should inspire viewers and the country community to do whatever they can to stamp out hunger, since no child should go to sleep with an empty belly, ever.
Little Big Town performed the song with the Clark County Children’s Choir providing support. It was a powerful few moments.
