Keith Urban is recovering from throat surgery and soon will be back on the concert road. In fact,  he's due to perform at the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium on Feb. 3.

His recovery has been going well, except he's have some strange dreams recently. In one he was singing in a very high voice. Since he was ordered on complete voice rest, he called his doctor to see if it's possible. Dr. Matthew Edlund says complex dreams involving music usually occur during the REM sleep cycle.

And he sites other singers/songwriters who have used dreams to make songs come true. One, being Barry Manilow who came up with one of his best songs in a dream ("One Voice"), and woke up to write it down, only to finish it the next day.

Now that Keith Urban is back in the game maybe those musical dreams will continue leading him to some of his best work. It's hard to top something like this, though, it's one of my favorites.
