July 4th Events in Lubbock
The Fourth of July falls on during the middle of the week this year but there are still plenty of fun things to do the weekend before and day of here in Lubbock. Last year the Fourth of July didn't feel right thanks to the fireworks display being cancelled due to the drought. While we haven't had too much rain since then, the fireworks display will happen this year!
This year the College Baseball Night of Champions will be held on Saturday, June 30th at the Civic Center Theater. The night will include both the College Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and the College Baseball Awards show. Some of the Hall of Famers being inducted this year include Lou Brock, Nomar Garciaparra and Brad Wilkerson. The ceremonies begin at 7pm and tickets are just $7.
The Josh Abbott Band will headline this year's 4th on Broadway street dance. Joining JAB will be William Clark Green and Brandon Adams. Tickets for the show are just $15. Concert starts at 7.
The 4th of July parade is always the biggest attraction during the festivities. The parade will start and 9am. After the parade the fair will begin and run until 5:30.
Fireworks will be held at sun down at both Mackenzie Park and Buffalo Springs Lake.
