Lonestar 99.5 had the opportunity to talk to Josh Abbott Band fiddle player Preston Wait as we ramp up for JAB Fest 2017 at the Lonestar Amphitheater in Lubbock, Texas.

Wait, calling in from Austin, revealed that singer Josh Abbott is actually in Rockport, Texas to help in the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts there.

"Josh is actually down in Rockport right now, he's the part owner of a restaurant called Mac's BBQ. They're down there handing out sandwiches to everyone, helping everyone in need," Wait told Lonestar 99.5.

Wait mentioned how Abbott's JAB Cares effort is donating all proceeds from the sale of a 'My Texas' t-shirt to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

We also talked about Josh Abbott Band's recently released new album, along with what we can expect to see at JAB Fest this year. Wait shared details about the big band addition to their show and why they now need two buses to get everyone to JAB Fest this year. Listen to our full interview with Preston Wait in the video above.

Josh Abbott Band's JAB Fest has a tremendous lineup of Texas Red Dirt Country, along with special guest Joe Nichols. The annual concert has also been expanded to two big days this year, September 8-9th. Tickets are still available online, though for the past three years the event has sold out.
