The Josh Abbott Band will be headlining JAB Fest in Lubbock this Saturday evening at 6 at the Lonestar Amphitheatre. Abbott will be joined by Hayes Carll, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Whiskey Myers, Charlie Shafter Band and William Clark Green.

Abbott, who headlines, has been working hard on a new album and is constantly touring the states of Texas and Oklahoma. Abbott can attribute his success in the Texas country and Red Dirt scene to the beginning of his career and the musical influence he received. You might be surprised to know he didn't always expect to be headlining his own festival.

"Honestly I wanted to sing praise and worship songs," Abbott told McWilley of Kat Country 102 in Amarillo. "I wanted to sing Pat Green and I wanted to sing Willie Nelson songs.”

You may hear a gospel, Pat Green or Willie Nelson song this Saturday night at JAB Fest. No telling what Josh and crew will do when the sun goes down this weekend.

Tickets for JAB Fest are still available online at the Josh Abbott Band's Website. Presale tickets are just $20 or $25 at the door.
