The 2014 CMA Awards nominees were recently announced, but one big name notably was missing from the list. Despite having a huge touring year in this year alone, Jason Aldean's name was nowhere to be found.

If Aldean had been nominated for Entertainer of the Year, it would have been for a fourth consecutive year. But his name wasn't listed under that -- or any -- category, and the singer isn't thrilled.

"Obviously it's disappointing," Aldean tells Rolling Stone Country. "We're still out there selling out shows. With maybe the exception of Luke [Bryan], I don't think there is anybody else out there that is doing the kind of touring numbers that we're doing. It's frustrating, man. But at the same time, I don't know how ... what do you do? Things like that are out of your hands."

As soon as the 2014 nominations were announced, fans were alerted to Aldean's missing credits, voicing their opinions on social media sites while deejays used country radio to vent.

"When [the nominations] came out, everything stirred up a hornet's nest with everybody. All the DJs on the radio were talking about it and everything else," Aldean shares, "which is cool. I do appreciate the fact that there are people out there who do realize what we're doing. It sort of validates my reasoning for being upset."

He continues, "It does suck a little bit when awards season comes around and you feel like you're, as far as artists go, you're up there at the cream of the crop, and to get overlooked like that is upsetting."

"But at the same time, you know, I wasn't the only one," Aldean reminds readers, referring to tourmate Tyler Farr not being nominated. "You look at the New Artist category and who's in there, and I look at my buddy Tyler Farr, who's on tour with me coming off of two No. 1s, and I'm going, 'How can this guy get left out of that deal?' Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan having 'This Is How We Roll,' one of the biggest songs of the year, and not getting a nod for [Musical Event]. I don't really understand how they come up with that stuff."

Even though Aldean won't be up for any awards at the 48th annual CMA Awards, he's going to keep doing what he's doing for his fans, because they're what matters most.

"It is what it is," the star assures. "You can b---h and complain about it, or you just go and keep doing things the way you always did."

The 2014 CMA Awards will air Nov. 5, with Carrie Underwood (and her baby bump!) and Brad Paisley returning to host.
