Two more Red Raiders heard their names called during the 2016 NFL Draft. Jakeem Grant and DeAndre Washington were both picked on day three.

DeAndre Washington was chosen by the Oakland Raiders in the fifth round, while Jakeem "The Dream" Grant was picked in the sixth round by the Miami Dolphins.

According to Texas Tech Athletics, the selection of Grant, Washington and Le'Raven Clark (selected by the Indianapolis Colts on day two of the NFL Draft) is the first time since 2009 where three Texas Tech players were chosen during a single draft.

"The Raiders are a rich-tradition organization – tradition runs deep," Washington said after being selected. "I know they have some die-hard fans out there, so I’m looking forward to getting out there and competing and having some fun and doing some big things for the Raider Nation."

Washington will join another big-name former Red Raiders player in Oakland: Michael Crabtree.

"I've actually never met him personally, but definitely look forward to being with another Red Raider up there in Oakland," said Washington about Crabtree.

Grant, a fan-favorite and one of the most exciting Texas Tech players to watch in Lubbock, had a simple reminder for football fans after being drafted by the Dolphins: "I don’t have the size, [but] you can’t hit what you can’t catch."

Grant made waves during the off-season when he ran one of, if not the fastest 40-yard dashes in history. He also broke several major records during his 2015 season: most single season all-purpose yards (2,353), most career receiving yards (3,164) and most career receiving yards (3,289).
