Jake Owen has released the title track for his album American Love, in advance of the project's July 29 drop date.

"American Love" is a feel-good song that, from the first notes, will have listeners swaying in their seats. Owen paints a picture of a classic American love story: In the first verse, he's picking up a date for a football game in a Camaro, while in the second he's "parked the Chevy by the levee on a Friday night" -- a nod to Don McLean's classic "American Pie" -- so they can watch the sunset, count the stars and ... well, you know.

"I was all caught up in that American love / Two young hearts, one cool car," Owen sings in the chorus. "And all we wanted to do was / Park, kiss, smoke, drink ..."

Readers can press play on the video above to hear "American Love," which is one of 11 songs on Owen's forthcoming record. The singer has also shared, in advance of its release, "Good Company" and "If He Ain't Gonna Love You."

"Music is healing, whether it’s sad songs or happy songs — just depending on where you are in life and what you need to hear at that point,” Owen tells Rolling Stone Country. “This album has a lot of different aspects of my life thread throughout it. I think people will kinda get a good idea of where I am in life, where I’m going and where I’ve been.”

American Love is available for pre-order on iTunes.
