By now I'm sure you've heard about a Texas Grand Jury indicting Adrian Peterson on child endangerment and abuse charges. Texas law says "parents are entitled to discipline their children as they see fit, except when that discipline exceeds what the community would say is reasonable."

I was spanked as a child and I think discipline is OK and quite honestly needed sometimes. But there is definitely a line.

In Peterson's case, the grand jury found Peterson's discipline exceeded a reasonable standard.

Peterson's attorney, Rusty Hardin, issued a statement Friday saying his client's conduct "involves using a switch to spank his son."

"Adrian is a loving father who used his judgment as a parent to discipline his son," said Hardin. "He used the same kind of discipline with his child that he experienced as a child growing up in east Texas. Adrian has never hidden from what happened."

The Vikings suspended him for one game but have since reinstated Peterson. He is slated to play on Sunday (September 20).

The following poll is not whether or not you feel Peterson abused his four-year-old child, simply a "yes" or "no" on if spanking a child is right and/or effective.
