Through the first two days of the 2018 NFL Draft, not a single Texas Tech Red Raider heard their name be called. Well, technically there was ONE former Red Raider who was called up to the podium.

However, none of that matters today. On the final day of the NFL Draft, Texas Tech fans didn't have to wait long to hear one of their favorite players have his name called — by the best receiver in Houston Texans history, nonetheless.

Now, I don't want to say that I knew that the Texans would draft Coutee, but something just told me it was a possibility. Coutee is the first receiver to be drafted from Texas Tech since Jakeem Grant was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2016.

Keke Coutee joins Wes Welker in Houston where the former Red Raider and New England Patriot is a Special Teams and Receivers coach.

The Houston Texans’ first game of the season will be against the New England Patriots on September 9th.
