A fun night of dancing the Salsa is planned for this Saturday, 10 p.m. 'til midnight at Texas Tech. It's all part of Texas Tech University's Raider Winter Welcome Week and will be held at the Student Recreation Center. Scott Layher, assistant director of marketing for Recreational Sports at Tech tells Texas Tech University Office of Communications and Marketing, "It's a late night activity that's free, fun, and may be a little out of their comfort zone. We are here for the students are trying to provide programming that best fits our student population." Don't fret, you'll have help. Salsa instructors will show you the moves and also raffle off more-involved Salsa lessons. The event is an effort of several Texas Tech services and the Alcohol Prevention Coalition. As you 'dance up a sweat', your thirst will be quenched with refreshments  ("mocktails", a non-alcoholic Raider punch) furnished by United Supermarkets. It should be a fun event to start the year off in a fun, positive way and if you're a Tech student, take advantage of it! Here's a little video so you won't go there not knowing what the "Salsa" is. Just don't think you need to be this accomplished. It's amazing!
