I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day. It's a day of tradition, overeating and spending time with family. But on this Thanksgiving I spent time with some folks that don't have that.

My church helps with a ministry call "Jacob's Ladder". The people there help the homeless with meals and providing clothing.

Thanksgiving morning I, along with my awesome wife, were serving up breakfast for homeless people and some families that could not afford a Thanksgiving day meal.

We also sent them home, or wherever they go, with some turkey. That was my job of making up plates of turkey, rice and beans that they could take with them. Let me tell you, I was kept busy.

It is a great feeling to help others and see the smiles on their faces. I just felt like I really did something meaningful. So when I got home I had a renewed sense of being thankful for what I have.

So here's hoping you had a happy Thanksgiving. It's a Thanksgiving I won't soon forget.
