The school year is about to start, and parents along with their kids are already out buying those back to school items. In addition to buying new clothes and shoes, United Supermarkets is helping families build a better lunch box.

Brenda Duby, corporate dietician for the United Family, spoke about different items to put in your child's lunch box for school.

Duby says starch and proteins are always the place to start. "Hummus, hard boiled eggs, cheese" are all great places to start, along with nuts. Fruits and vegetables are always great for lunch boxes as well according to Duby.

Duby said that if you look around United Supermarkets and Market Street locations, dieticians have marked items that would make for great lunch box ideas.
