Virtual free tea will roll out at all three of our Lubbock McAlister's Delis on Thursday, July 23rd, according to their Facebook page and website. What a great and refreshing idea.

A quick call to the restaurant confirmed a few details, so listen up: here's how you can enjoy that free tea and participate in their great event.

First of all, it's free and doesn't require a purchase. The only thing you need to do is download the app. Yes, that's one extra step, but according to the team at McAlister's, this is helping them to avoid a crowded restaurant during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. That's the whole reason this annual free tea event has gone virtual.

They told us that every year around this time they have had a free tea day, and we applaud them for thinking outside the box and serving up that free tea with social distancing in mind virtual style this year.

If you already have the app, just order up your tea. If you don't have the app, you will get a tea just for downloading it, plus another for Free Tea Day. To avoid a rush at the restaurant, they credit the free tea to your app and you have 30 days to pick it up.

So if you're an iced tea fan it's time to jump on this virtual free iced tea event because, well, what a great idea.

McAlister's has three Lubbock locations: 4210 82nd Street, 6810 Milwaukee Avenue, and 2415 19th Street. You can follow this link to their website. You can download the app on your mobile device via Google Play or your App store.

Happy Free Tea Day, y'all!
