Dakota Allen's journey back to Texas Tech was a tough one and was one that was well documented with the Netflix series, Last Chance U. With everything that has happened in his tenure at Tech, it's not hard to see why he has such a compelling story. On Fox Sports newest show, CFB: Inside Slant, they took a deeper look at Allen's past.

The 30-minute program takes viewers beyond the football field with an inside look at the sport’s top stories and biggest newsmakers through features and in-depth interviews. Here is just a little tidbit of what was on Tuesday's program which featured a look at Dakota Allen's redemption back to Texas Tech.

It details everything from detailing a little about how he started to love football and his family, then into the burglary charge that dismissed him from the program. The Interviews from Co-Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers coach, Zac Spavital and Coach Kingsbury about that night really told you a lot of what they saw in the character of Dakota Allen and how shocked they were.

It then transitioned into his short time playing for East Mississippi Community College, leading the team in tackles and to an 11-1 record. Then to a message from Defensive Coordinator David Gibbs asking him if he wanted to come back.

The piece on Dakota was very well done and if you missed out on catching the program when it aired, you can watch it here.
