Kerry Hyder, according to ESPN.com, owes all his success to Outback Steakhouse.

In the article Hyder attributes his success to his routine. A meticulous morning routine. Hyder has been trying to make an NFL roster since he signed a free agent contract with the Jets in 2014.

This preseason was spent with the Detroit lions. Hyder was deep in his routine. One Friday night, as Hyder was worrying about a ridiculous fine that was more than his salary, Hyder went to, "an Outback Steakhouse and ordered an $8.99 Bloomin’ Onion and a 22-ounce rib-eye steak costing $27.99." The rest was history.

From the ESPN article, "Two days later, he went out and had three sacks in the Lions' preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills. Two days after that, he made the roster for the first time. The sack streak continued. He has had at least one sack in each of his first three games and now he’s tied for second in the NFL with four."

For comparison the Dallas Cowboys have 6 total. As a team.

Outback has played into Hyder's life when he was at Texas Tech too. Hyder went to Outback while he was a Red Raider then played Oklahoma State, blocked a punt, broke up a pass and had three tackles. Not a bad game.

The rest of the ESPN article is a great spot light on one of the best Red Raiders of all time.
