Several weeks ago, we brought you the story of Anthony Lynn being the interim head coach in Buffalo. Now, we bring you the news that the Chargers, hours after moving to Los Angeles, have tapped Lynn to be their new head coach.

The former Red Raider will take over a solid roster, including veteran quarterback Philip Rivers and playmakers on offense and defense such as rookie defensive end Joey Bosa. This is a playoff-ready club who has consistently underperformed in the past several years. Hence, the coaching change.

According to NFL.com, Lynn will look to stock his coaching staff with experience. The new coach will try to keep current Chargers offensive coordinator and former NFL head coach Ken Whisenhunt as offensive coordinator. Lynn is also linked to Gus Johnson, former Jaguars head coach, as a defensive coordinator option.

Both of these gentlemen, while not successful as head coaches, had plenty of success as coordinators. And one thing they have as head coaches is experience and that is something Lynn definitely needs.

I will definitely be keeping up with the Chargers just a little closer this next season.

Lynn will join the AFC west that has had a run strong run of Red Raider ties in the recent past. With Wes Welker, Manny Ramirez and Louis Vasquez all spending time with the Denver Broncos, and Michael Crabtree, DeAndre Washington and Branden Jackson all with the Oakland Raiders right now.

All the best to Coach Lynn and his (now) Los Angeles Chargers! Wreck 'em.
