It's Monday, the first day of the week and time to look and listen to the first hit song of a country singer or group. This group has a tie to Lubbock.

Lonestar got together in 1992. The lead singer is Richie McDonald, who is from Lubbock. Singer John Rich of Big and Rich at one time was member of the group. He left the group in 1998 when it was felt that people would get confused with the band having two lead singers.

In fact in 2007, McDonald left the group to pursue a solo career and spend more time with his family. He was replaced by Cody Collins.

Now McDonald will rejoin the group on 2012 , celebrating the group's 20th anniversary.

But back to the band. They got a record deal with BNA Records and in 1995 and released their self titled debut. The second release off that album became their first Number One song in 1996. The song was "No News".
