This year's Race for the Cure, presented by the Susan G. Komen Lubbock area group, will happen Saturday, October 1.

Two different routes will be available for runner: a more strenuous 5K (that's 3.1 miles) for those who want to run, and a shorter 1K route for those who prefer to power walk or have baby strollers to push.

This year, the group is aiming to raise $263,400. 

To donate or register for the race, visit the Susan G. Komen website. You can also register in person at Cardinal's Sport Center during the following days and times:

Saturday, September 24th, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Wednesday, September 28th, 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Thursday, September 29th, 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Friday, September 30th, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

7:30 a.m. -- On-Site Registration in NE hallway of Civic Center
7:45 a.m. -- Survivor Gathering Begins in the Banquet Hall
8:55 a.m. -- Opening Ceremonies at the Start Line (on west side of Civic Center)
9:30 a.m. -- Timed Runner 5K Start (at the Start Line, of course!)
9:35 a.m. -- 5K Fun Run/Walk Start (also at the Start line!)
9:45 a.m.  -- 1K Fun Walk Start (also at the Start line!)
10 a.m. -- Expo Opens in Exhibit Hall (on north side of Civic Center)
10:30 a.m. -- Closing Ceremony begins (at start line)
12 p.m. -- Expos Close
