In a rather embarrassing situation this week, Seattle police admit officers left an assault rifle on the trunk of their patrol car and drove off. Two people noticed and while one flagged down bicycle officers, the other followed the police car until they parked and informed them of their goof. The gun is usually kept IN the trunk rather than ON it.

We've all lost focus...well, most of us anyway and left something on the roof or trunk and driven off. I've been there when my husband left his wallet, or a tennis racket, or maybe just a soda on the top and driven off. I'm not pristine, either, leaving a couple of pizzas on the roof and driving off. And thankfully, another motorist screaming, honking and flailing his arms notified me before they slid off. What item have you forgotten? Hopefully it wasn't a gun. Oh, by the way, the Seattle Police incident is under investigation.
