Eric Church's brother, Brandon, died last week, a representative for the country star confirms. A note at a page set up for a memorial scholarship fund in Brandon's honor remembers him as a beloved son, brother, father and friend.

The details of Brandon E. Church's death were not made available. Longtime Church fans may recognize him from early performances with the singer. AllMusic also credits him as a co-writer on multiple Church albums, as well as production credits.

"In lieu of flowers, please pay forward a gift that will keep on giving to others through furthering their education," the note at a Deposit a Gift site set up in his honor reads. "The Brandon E. Church Memorial Scholarship Fund will be used to bless others and honor a benevolent life. Thank you for showing your love and support to the Church family."

As of Monday night (July 2), approximately $14,000 had been raised. The first donation was made at about 9AM CT Monday morning. Brandon Church leaves behind a young daughter named McKenzie.

Church's next concert is scheduled for July 7 at Country Concert in Fort Loramie, Ohio. He has just a few dates scheduled for July before six in August. Church's last album was the surprise Mr. Misunderstood album in 2015. He's rumored to be working on new music, although no firm details about an album or tour have been announced.
