Lubbock police arrested Coleton Neal Hinsley (21) after he led LPD officers, then the LSO in a high speed chase on Sunday morning (Jan. 24).

The chase began Sunday around 3:45 a.m. when Hinsley’s vehicle was spotted driving recklessly and speeding through a construction area in the 1100 block of Southeast Loop 289.

Phase one of the chase ended when the suspect lost the officer just south of the City limits around CR 2720 and CR 7700.

A short time later, Hinsley led Deputies with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office in a chase back into the city, allowing LPD to join the pursuit.

After several more minutes of evading police, a Deputy with the LSO successfully laid down tire spikes bringing the pursuit to a safe halt.

Police ascertained the vehicle was stolen and booked Hinsley in to the Lubbock County Jail.

Hinsley has been charged with three misdemeanor warrants, evading arrest in a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and felony warrant.
