Sometimes the media gets stuck on their favorite players. They become the media darlings and get all the ink. I think they get so focus on these players that they forget to go seek out other talent. Seth Doege opened some eyes on Saturday night in Norman Oklahoma.

Through out the season the media types have been hyping Big 12 quarterbacks like the Sooners Landry Jones, Baylors's Robert Griffith III, Oklahoma State's Brandon Weedon and K-State's Collin Klein.

They are all great, but Tech's Seth Doege has been right there with them. He has been putting up similar numbers, if not better. But since the Red Raiders were not ranked, there was no pub for Doege.

So far this season he has thrown for 2607 yards, 22 T.D.'s and only been intercepted four times.

But Saturday's win over then #1/#3 Oklahoma made the media take notice. Doege passed for 441 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a score. Oh by the way, he even had an 11 yard reception.

This kid is a leader and knows how to win and because of his effort Saturday night, Doege was named the Walter Camp Football Foundation's National Offensive Player of the Week.

So congratulations Seth Doege.
