Problems that can’t be solved in the short term, like world hunger, become more approachable when viewed long term. He sees the clock as a symbol and he said, “Symbols can be very powerful”.
According to Wikipedia prototypes are on display at The Long Now Museum & Store at Fort Mason Center in San Francisco. According to Longnow.org there is no completion date scheduled, but they do plan to open to the public when the clock is ready.
