Even the biggest Cole Swindell fan probably hasn't heard this song.

Swindell broke out the song, called "Lone Star Story," before hitting the stage Thursday, Sept. 24 in Lubbock, Texas on Jason Aldean's Burn It Down tour. The song was written with a couple of friends from Texas, he explained.

"We're in Texas tonight, and this is a song I wrote several years ago," said the "Ain't Worth the Whiskey" singer.

Swindell quickly added: "It's not going to be on my new EP, it's not going to be on the new album, so don't get your hopes up on that."

Dang!

But the singer said the song still holds a special place in his heart.

"This is one of my favorite songs I've written," he said. "This is a song I've always wanted George Strait to hear or record, whatever, either way is fine. George Strait's got a new album coming out [Friday, Sept. 25], so it's probably too late, but just in case, George."

Swindell dedicated the song to all the "Texas heart-breaking girls out there." And if you live in Texas, you know there are plenty.
