Texas Tech seniors Le'Raven Clark and DeAndre Washington will participate in the 67th annual Reese's Senior Bowl. The game will take place Saturday, January 30th at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. If you want to watch, kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 pm on NFL Network.

Both Clark and Washington will be on the South team as teammates wearing No. 62 and No. 31 respectively. Their coach for the event will be the head man of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Gus Bradley along with his NFL staff.

A CBS Sports Second Team All-America and three-time All Big 12 First Team selection, Clark started 51 consecutive games at Texas Tech. A senior captain and anchor of Texas Tech’s offensive line, Clark was a three-time Outland and Rotary Lombardi Award candidate. Clark became Texas Tech’s first offensive lineman to earn Freshman All-America honors in program history.

With a good showing Clark should be primed to a mid to late round draft pick. Texas Tech, and similar offenses, get knocked as "systems" where their quarterbacks and offensive lineman are typecast as one dimensional. Clark, has led a resurgence to the running game the last 2 years having a running back notching 1,000 yards.

A two-time All-Big 12 selection and three-time All-Big 12 Academic performer, Washington became the first running back at Texas Tech since former Doak Walker Award winner Byron Hanspard in 1995 and 1996 to run for back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. In 2015, he totaled 1,492 rushing yards, 14 touchdowns on 233 carries and boasted a 6.4 yards per rush average.

He recorded seven 100-yard rushing performances and also caught 41 passes for 385 yards and two touchdowns. Washington concluded the 2015 season ranked among the nation’s top-20 in several statistical categories including all-purpose yards (No. 14, 144.4), yards per carry (No. 20, 6.4), rushing touchdowns (No. 20), rushing yards (No. 14) and rushing yards per game (No. 17).

I think Washington did a lot to help his draft stock during the past 2 seasons. The previous paragraphs are a heck of a resume. He's the best running back that tech has had since the 1990's. I'm still not sure that he is a for sure pick in the NFL draft. The Senior Bowl, the combine, pro days will all help Washington sneak up into the 6th round.

While Jakeem Grant is not participating in the Senior Bowl he is another guy from the Red Raider offense that has a chance to get drafted.

The NFL Network will broadcast live from Senior Bowl practices and will air its coverage in three one-hour primetime shows on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. In addition, ESPNU will televise the North and South team practices live from Ladd-Peebles Stadium on both Wednesday and Thursday.
