Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Made a Little Bit of Money
A little movie called Captain America: Civl War came out this weekend and made the exact kind of money you’d expect it to make. The thirteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe didn’t have the biggest opening in the series’ history, but it was close enough. It’s easily the biggest opening for a Captain America solo movie (albeit ballooned by a co-starring role for Iron Man) and it managed to open bigger than its chief rival this year, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That’s certainly a win.

The best part of each new month is the stuff that gets added to Netflix. The worst part of each new month is the stuff that gets taken from Netflix. And this month’s list of expiring titles is actually pretty extensive; there’s a Ridley Scott double bill (Black Hawk Down and the theatrical cut of Blade Runner), Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure (Bogus!), the terrific Polish drama Ida, and the surreal horror flick Escape From Tomorrow, which was shot on the grounds of Walt Disney World without the company’s permission.

Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League Has a Predictably Great Response to Texting in Theaters
The Alamo Drafthouse is built on a simple concept: great movies, good food, and most important of all — don’t talk or use your cell phone in the theater, or they will not hesitate to kick you out without a refund. Drafthouse CEO Tim League has devoted his brand to focusing on why we go to theaters in the first place, which is to watch movies, despite what some movie-goers and major corporate chains would have you believe. Following AMC’s briefly disastrous flirtation with allowing people to text in their theaters, League delivered a very thoughtful response, but if you’d rather watch a TL;DR version, you can see his predictably great reaction to this ill-conceived concept in the video above.

‘Batman vs. Superman’ Breaks a Bunch of Opening Records With $424 Million Worldwide
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had quite the weekend — not only did it break the March opening record previously held by The Hunger Games, but with $424 million worldwide, Zack Snyder’s epic now boasts the highest opening weekend for a Warner Bros. superhero movie. All those negative reviews predictably had zero effect on audiences, who flocked to see the long-awaited showdown between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel.

If you've seen the Facebook post going around, then you might have been fooled by it. It does look pretty legit. But no, Matt Damon isn't buying a house in Lubbock.
