Playgrounds are a part of childhood and if kids don't have a good area they're missing out on a real treat. Carrie Underwood has made sure kids at Marshall Elementary School in Checotah, Oklahoma have a spiral slide, a treehouse and lots of other equipment for playing. She and more than 200 volunteers spent Friday assembling equipment, planting shrubs, working with concrete and painting a mural. It's all part of a non-profit group call kaBOOM! along another group. That group would be Checotah Animal, Town and School Foundation, Carrie Underwood's organization which is targeted to help her hometown of Checotah. Since winning American Idol in 2005, Carrie Underwood's career has sky-rocketed but she hasn't forgotten where she came from and they reap the benefits as well. Here's one of my favorite songs by Carrie.
