Yup. You read that right. This brave man who manhandled a shark in shallow waters away from tourists and beach goers got sacked the second he returned from the trip. Believe it or not, his wife was fired, too!

Understandably, he was fired because he and his wife were essentially 'playing hooky', but the positions they were fired from were CHARITY positions! The couple both worked for The Pant & Dowlais Boys & Girls Club.

Paul Marshallsea and his 56-year-old wife, Wendy, were on leave for 'work related stress' and decided to relieve the stress on a beach in Australia. Sounds like a good place to get away from work related stress to me!

Anywho, upon their arrival back at home after the video of Paul moving the shark away from tourists made headlines all over the world (including their hometown and place of work) they received letters saying in part:

"Whilst unfit to work you were well enough to travel to Australia, and, according to recent news footage of yourself in Queensland, you allegedly grabbed a shark by the tail and narrowly missed being bitten by quickly jumping out of the way."

Sounds like they're saying this is at least ONE of the reasons they were fired, right? Watch this:

In a statement on the Dowlais Engine House's Homepage, the Trustees made an OFFICIAL statement saying:

Mr Paul Marshallsea was dismissed for a variety of issues relating to the period leading up to the commencement of his sickness absence in April 2012. None of the issues related to his recent holiday in Australia. The Trustees are not in a position to make any further comment as to do so could involve divulging personal information relating to Mr Marshallsea, a former employee.

Whatever you say people....

It's a cool video to watch and whether or not they were falling down on their jobs before hand, Paul removed risk and danger from the paths of CHILDREN, among others when he pushed that shark back out to deeper waters. So we tip our hats off to you Paul and other guy who helped!!

What do you think?
