In the past year there's been a lot of gossip in the news about Billy Ray Cyrus and his family.  His daughter Miley slithered in feathers in a racy video and smoked a bong in another. People questioned the parenting skills of Cyrus and his wife.  Last October he filed for divorce from Cindy, his wife of 17 years. They announced this March the divorce was off and they were working on making their marriage and family work.

And through all this publicity, Billy Ray just holds his head up and tells The Associated Press he thinks everyone can identify with his life, "That guy is kind of just like us; peaks and valleys, ups and downs".  He says, "The key to life is that it's not about how many times you get knocked down, it's about how many times you get back up."  Cyrus' new album, "I'm American" is out today. Check it out.
