In the days before "American Idol", there was a talent show called "Star Search". It was on that show country group Sawyer Brown found success.

It was 1984 when the group won the top prize and landed a contract with Curb Records. It didn't take long, in the following year, Sawyer Brown was putting hit songs on the Radio.

They were the first to make music videos with a story line rather than just them performing.

Over the years they won several awards including the CMA Horizon Award in 1985. They were named the ACM's top group in 1996 and six straight times they were named "TNN/Music City News Awards top vocal band.

They were a very high energy group that when you saw them in concert you knew you were going to have a great time.
