Lady Antebellum helped celebrate a very important 100th birthday today, but it wasn’t the birthday of a historical figure or a celebrity. No, this was a birthday party for a cookie — the Oreo, to be exact. The ‘We Owned the Night’ singers took the stage at the Grove in Los Angeles to perform in honor of the centennial birthday of America’s favorite cookie. To add to the festivities, the opening act was a flash mob.
Little Big Town released their last record, ‘The Reason Why,’ in 2010, and now they’re hitting the studio once again with the goal of bringing to life their next release, which will be their fifth as a band. For this project, the group is teaming up with producer Jay Joyce, who has worked with artists like the endlessly successful Eric Church and the Wallflowers.
Miranda Lambert confirmed that she’s working on a television series that’s loosely based on her childhood in Texas. In a recent interview with Dan Van from Albright & O’Malley, the country gal talked more about the the show, which is rumored to be about a boy and a girl — likely inspired by Lambert and her brother — who help their private investigator parents solve crimes.
Brad Paisley is no stranger to taking the stage in front of a giant audience, but this week he took a bit of a leap and set foot in front of a totally different kind of audience — the kind attending a Broadway show.
Ellen DeGeneres’ new little mini hosts Sophia Grace and Rosie are likely the envy of most little girls across the country. The YouTube sensations won DeGeneres’ heart, and have since served as her correspondents for the American Music Awards and the Grammys. Now, the tutu-clad duo are hosting their own segment called ‘Tea Time,’ which debuts today (Feb.29) on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’ And their first guest happens to be none other than Taylor Swift.
This weekend, George Strait walked onstage at his Kansas City, Mo. show to meet 18,000 fans eagerly awaiting his performance. The country music veteran stepped up to the mic with his guitar and went through the motions of starting a show, just like he knows so well how to do. But after two songs, the seasoned talent had to cut the show short, admitting he was too sick to continue.
After a long and dramatic saga at the end of last year, country singer Mindy McCready was discovered in a closet in Arkansas with her son Zander. The Band Perry took a break in the middle of their tour with Brad Paisley to step onto the new stage of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Monday (Feb. 20). According to the Tennessean, the band’s 85-minute set of songs included some of their crowd favorites sprinkled with a good mixture of new songs, played for the first time.
Taylor Swift just came out with a behind-the-scenes video from her music video shoot from ‘Safe & Sound,’ the lead single on the upcoming ‘The Hunger Games’ soundtrack. The haunting mood of the song, which also features The Civil Wars, translates so perfectly to the almost colorless video. In the below clip, Swift catches the vision as soon as she steps out into the cold of the barren winter woods.
It’s certainly no secret that Taylor Swift has a whole generation of young followers.
