Taylor Swift will appear on VH1′s famed ‘Storytellers’ series, where artists perform songs and offer insight, anecdotes, memories and details about the tunes. Given the confessional nature of Swift’s songwriting and her chatty personality, this will be a very good episode for her fans — and quite possibly a very bad one for her exes who are worried she might “out” them.
Brad Paisley graciously allowed E!’s ‘Opening Act’ reality show to use that very slot on the Mountain View, California date of his tour. Singer Tanner Patrick auditioned with Lady Antebellum‘s ‘Need You Now’ in order to earn the coveted opening position. It felt like the aspiring singer was happy covering a pretty pop song that also happened to be a country song, as opposed to his desire to play pop-country. By the end of the episode, he had a renewed appreciation for the genre.
Blake Shelton may be a consummate joker, but he has a heart of gold beneath all that laughter. He is also a man of his word, as he helped make a dream come true for Harlie Bryant, a 6-year-old stricken with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Shelton, who was alerted to the little girl’s plight via Twitter, met with her at Owensboro’s Big O Music Fest on Saturday (August 18).
Country legend Willie Nelson was forced to cancel his planned performance at a fundraiser in Castle Pines Village in Colorado on Saturday, August 18. The tireless singer and pot proponent, 79, reportedly pulled out of his appearance due to health problems.

Keith Urban already has experience as a reality show judge, having served as a coach on the Australian version of ‘The Voice.’ Now, Urban may be lured to a competing show’s lair, since sources are indicating that ‘American Idol’ producers would like a country star on the revamped panel and that Urban their No. 1 choice to fill that genre-specific slot.
Sheryl Crow can now breathe a huge sigh of relief. The singer was granted a three-year restraining order against a disturbed man who threatened to shoot both Crow and film exec Harvey Weinstein. The stalker also accused them of stealing $7.5 million from him and claimed they videotaped him and followed him, causing his homelessness. Clearly, Crow was dealing with someone not in their right mind and who presented a credible threat to her well-being.
Country up and comer RaeLynn celebrated opening for her “big sister” and No. 1 supporter Miranda Lambert –that is, No. 1 supporter after her ‘The Voice’ coach and Lambert’s hubby Blake Shelton– by sharing an amazing photo of the backstage happenings! Lambert’s Pistol Annies were also on the bill. Girl power was in full effect.
It should come as no shock that the video for Jason Aldean‘s latest (and lyrically altered) single, ‘Take a Little Ride,’ features lots of big trucks, which are driven by young, good-looking people. The song is about hitting the road, and that’s just what they do in the clip, even if it’s for a little recreational fun with seemingly no destination point. They essentially commandeer the vehicles and do donuts in a field… the perfect summertime activity!
It’s almost time to “celebrate” the back-to-school season and country legend Garth Brooks is getting in on the related fun. The singer will join the likes of Carrie Underwood and Dierks Bentley at the for the ‘Teachers Rock‘ TV special, which is set to air live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Friday, Aug. 17 at 8PM ET.
